SENNEBOGEN is significantly expanding its product range for the Balance material handlers upward. The new SENNEBOGEN 8400, which will be available from the end of 2016, boasts impressive features such as comfortable reaches of up to 42 m, energy-efficient electric motors, and EQ technology. The material handler is balanced across the entire working area and, thanks to the classic lever principle, it guarantees the lowest energy and operating costs during use.
Thanks to the Balance technology, you can make unparalleled savings when it comes to energy and operating costs of up to 75% compared to conventional drive and machine concepts with diesel drives. Two powerful 160 kW electric motors reliably drive the 8400 material handler. At the same time, the adjustable counterweight ensures that the equipment always stays balanced in every position and the center of gravity of the equipment including the grapple stays centrically in the middle. The balance of the machine is kept constant thanks to this EQ principle. This ensures that the drive only requires low amounts of energy even for high reaches and heavy working loads.
The way it works is easy. The entire machine can be controlled with just two cylinders, one for the lift and one for the stick. A bar that runs parallel to the boom connects the stick with the rear counterweight and ensures an effective transmission of power. During every operating movement, the counterweight is held in balance in a similar way to classic lever principle behavior. Even for heavy loads and high reaches, only the load lifted must be moved and driven – an enormous saving in terms of power and energy. Savings in operating, service, and energy costs of up to 50% can be achieved through the well-designed balancer concept alone.
Additional significant savings are also generated when combined with the electro-hydraulic drive concept from SENNEBOGEN. As an electric machine, the 8400 EQ requires just approx. 50% of the energy of a comparable diesel-powered machine.
The new SENNEBOGEN 8400 EQ can be used in port handling or in industrial applications. With a working load of 12 t at a reach of 42 m, a stationary machine is able to comfortably cover an area of around 5,500 sq m. Furthermore, multiple work steps can be carried out using optimum logistics from a central position and the overview is always guaranteed thanks to the mast structure and elevated cab position. The forward-positioned Portcab harbor cab with its exceptionally spacious conditions and large floor window provide the best possible overview.
The SENNEBOGEN material handlers are synonymous with maximum ease-of-use and convenient maintenance. A power pack that can be walked on provides optimal accessibility to the engine and control technology under any weather conditions – easy servicing at its best. The centrally accessible measuring and maintenance points make checking the entire hydraulic system a quick task. All drive components and control components are brought together centrally in a spacious machine room. Together with the simple maintenance and easy-to-understand technology, this clear arrangement proves itself in daily operation. With over 60 years of experience, SENNEBOGEN is able to guarantee maximum reliability, safety, and service life. Using tried-and-testing module components and positioning the cylinders in a way that ensures easy servicing guarantees quick spare parts supply and optimum maintenance. Customers are sure to get the best support thanks to the global dealer network with trained service technicians.
SENNEBOGEN stands for individual, customer-specific solutions and the modular structure of the machine means that a wide range of equipment variants are always possible. From stationary underframes, crawler tracks or rail solutions to pontoon constructions, a wide range of solutions can be implemented, all tailored to the customer's requirements.
