SENNEBOGEN 643 R in operation
Today, the Toggenburger companies are active in three different branches: Gravel and concrete, renaturization, earth moving and environmental technology as well as lifting and transporting. In the gravel and concrete sector, the products desired by customers are produced in three gravel plants, five concrete factories and in two recycling facilities. In the renaturization, earth moving and environmental technology sector, 13 backhoes and the respective equipment were used to dismantle structures and return the building materials for reutilization.
In the lifting and transport sector, the company has the right solution for any lifting tasks. The machine park has 23 mobile and crawler cranes and 80 lifting platforms and a brand new SENNEBOGEN 643 crawler.
A prime example of the capabilities of the Toggenburger companies is the redevelopment of the hazardous waste facility in Kolliken. By 2012, the hazardous waste facility in Kolliken (SMDK) should be completely redeveloped. To protect the populace and the environment, the renaturization takes place in hall structures. The waste site of over 40,000 m² is covered by the largest self-supporting hall in Switzerland. The main supporting structure of the manipulation and excavation hall consists of two-hinged arches and ties. The arches themselves are manufactured in the form of three-band trusses of sectional steel and have spans of 59 to 170 m. A total of 8,000 individual pieces were supplied for the hall construction.
The new SENNEBOGEN 643 crawler was utilized in the assembly of the hall arches. Equipped with a 13.0 m double folding jib and a 30.0 m telescopic boom, the machine can be used very flexibly on the construction site. The 643, with its crawler unit, can also be used reliably in rough terrain and in extreme conditions. The manoeuvrability in tight spaces and quick position changes provided by the crawler unit are other decisive benefits in practical application. Low maintenance and service costs and easy transport round off the economical overall concept of the 643.
